New Collaboration Launches to Protect Whales and Support California’s Dungeness Crab Fishery

PCFFA has joined two of the most respected organizations in marine science and conservation in the Dungeness Crab and Whale Conservation Collaborative. The Marine Mammal Center, the world's largest marine mammal hospital, brings deep expertise in whale research along the California coast. The Nature Conservancy brings global conservation science, a track record of innovation and collaboration, and the data and policy tools that support fishery management. PCFFA brings knowledge from the fleet that fishes California’s waters every day and whose livelihoods are affected by the management actions that science and data inform. This collaboration ensures fishermen are at the table from the start, shaping the work and helping carry it out.
